The CELLFiE Project

Fostering hope through science.

The CELLFiE Project, developed by Dr. David Conrad at the IWK Health hematopathology lab, offers children undergoing treatment for leukemia and their families a unique opportunity to demystify the diagnosis and treatment process by allowing patients to see images of their cells, both healthy and cancerous, before and after chemotherapy. This fosters better understanding and empowerment for young patients and their families. Patients also receive a lab coat, a stuffed cell toy, making them honorary pathologists during their visit.
